Castleknock College - Dublin

Castleknock College was founded in 1835 by the Vincentian Community. The Vincentians remain the College Trustees. The Mission Statement of the College is reflected in the ethos of the College.
The aim of Castleknock College is to enable each of its pupils to reach full development in a harmonious growth of the whole person. It promotes this aim of integral formation by many varied activities, religious, academic, social, cultural and sporting, which are conducted by means of personal contacts and shared commitments, and experienced by the pupils in the context of life within the College.
Castleknock College has been undergoing a multi million euro refurbishment over the last few years. The main school building is now complete and forms the core of what is possibly the most modern school campus in the country. Old classrooms were enlarged, new rooms were created from old dormitories and a large new section was added which houses our reception area and laboratories.
All four school laboratories are fully equipped to allow us to carry out a full programme of Junior and Leaving Certificates experimental work, as well as making use of the latest in audio-visual technology.
There are two large and well-lit art rooms, The Alton Library occupies what was once the Study Hall, A large music room, two fully equipped computer rooms, classrooms throughout the school are equipped with computers and audio-visual equipment.
The catering facilities provide both hot and cold meals and a range of snacks. It is open before school and at break times.
The next phase of the building programme will revamp our indoor sports facilities, including the sizeable gymnasium, but in the meantime we have over 10 acres of playing fields available for both practise and competitive play, including several rugby pitches, a soccer pitch and a number of tennis courts. A fully equipped weights room has recently been installed.
